ABOUT MR. L
Hello!
My name is Jason LaMirand. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, but moved to Austin with my family after graduating from high school. I attended Sam Houston State University and recieved a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Math and Science.
I have one sister, Jessica, a brother-in-law, Matt, and an adorable 2 year old nephew, Bentley. My sister is a 4th grade teacher in the Austin area. My mom use to be a math teacher in the Fort Bend School District, but now works in administration for Eanes Independent School District in Austin. I also have 2 aunts and 6 cousins who are educators, so I was pretty destined to be a teacher!
I am engaged to a wonderful woman named Jordyn, and we will be getting married in 2 years. She currently attends Texas A&M with hopes to attend UT for graduate school. Jordyn and I have two dogs, Arya & Jewels, and two cats, Josie & Jazzy. We are huge animal lovers! When I am not in the classroom, you can find me cheering on the Houston Texans, going on hikes with the dogs, watching my favorite tv shows, and telling Jordyn we cannot adopt another animal!

MY PHILOSOPHY
I believe that every student deserves an equal education. I also believe in implenting technology in my everyday lessons. Students shouldn't have technology taken away from them, but rather use it to better themselves for the future.

EDUCATION BACKGROUND
Graduated in May 2014 from Sam Houston State Univeristy.
​I am certified in the State of Texas to teach 4-8 Math and Science. I plan on becoming certified in ESL.
One day I hope to go back to school and get a Master's Degree; however, I am still not quite sure in what area.
